Mental Health Awareness Month Ideas
Mental Health Week and Mental Health Month type awareness campaigns give us the opportunity to reach out and let people know that they matter. We are social beings and 3 elements that contribute to a sense of mental health and wellbeing in the workplace are feeling valued, connected to others, and safe. That’s why you should design your mental health awareness month activities with these 3 elements in mind, to create a culture of compassion, fun and connection.
The Mental Health Awareness Month Ideas we’ve collated for you do just that. And we’ve thought of Low Cost things you can do too, for when the budget is either tight or non-existent. The important thing is to take advantage of what people across the nation are doing during this month and help stir some mental health awareness that will impact people’s health positively. We need this. Sadly, the suicide rate in Australia is growing and, with up to 20% of suicides being work related, we can go a long way to make our colleagues, friends and loved ones feel valued, connected and loved.
What if you feel you’ve left it to the last minute? Well, as my grandmother used to say, ‘it’s better late than never’. Do something now. Take action. Start the conversation. Get other people to join you. And, please, share with us and others what you are doing.
Enjoy! 🙂
